Event Speakers

Joshua M. Greene

(Yogesvara dasa)

Joshua M. Greene is a Laurel Vlock Fellow for Holocaust Testimonies at Yale University. He earned his degrees at Hofstra University, where he taught for ten years in the Department of Religion and Philosophy. Since 2000, he has written biographies of Holocaust survivors and other testimonies that have sold over half a million copies. From 2006 to 2018, he taught the philosophy of yoga at the Jivamukti Yoga School in New York and continues to teach as a guest instructor at yoga studios nationwide. In 1970, he received diksha initiation from Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Since then, his students have called him by his initiation name, Yogesvara.

Marco Ferrini

(Matsya Avatara dasa)

Marco Ferrini is an essayist, spiritual guide, and founder of the Centro Studi Bhaktivedanta - Institute of Indo-Vedic Studies. From 1996 to 2001, he taught Philosophy of Religions at the University of Siena and conducted recognized refresher courses for teachers of all levels. He has also lectured at the University of Milan, the University of Pisa, and Rome.
He is the author of over a thousand publications, including audio, video, and books. His work reinterprets the Indo-Vedic tradition for contemporary audiences, fostering dialogue between Eastern and Western thought.
In 2012, he was awarded an Honoris Causa Ph.D. in Philosophy by Dev Sanskriti University, receiving a gold medal and honorary certificate from the President of India and the Chancellor of the University. He was initiated by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1977 with the name Matsya Avatara Dasa. He holds courses and lectures also at secular and religious institutions.
